The City of Granadilla de Abona, led by the Department of Education under the guidance of Raquel Morales Izquierdo, is organising yet another edition of summer camps for the younger residents of the municipality during the months of July and August. This initiative is designed for local children, aged 3 to 12 years, and will be hosted in five primary educational institutions: CEIP Granadilla, Juan García Pérez, and Isaac de Vega in San Isidro, as well as Red Mountain and Los Coats in El Médano.
The inclusive camp, which also offers dining services, will operate from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a limited number of places available. The registration period runs from April 28 to May 16, accommodating July, August, or both months. Parents can sign up at the Citizen Attention Services offices across Granadilla Casco, San Isidro, El Médano, Los Coats, Charco del Pino, and Chimiche, but they must schedule an appointment in advance. Registration is also accessible via the electronic platform on the institutional website.
In terms of the educational programme, a different theme will be introduced each week, managed by both children’s and primary groups. The planned activities will promote healthy leisure, participation, social skills, and core values, incorporating a mix of recreational, educational, and sports-related sessions. The fees for the camp are set at €150 per month for the first child, €135 for the second, and €115 for any subsequent children.
The municipal leader emphasises that this initiative serves as a valuable resource for families during the holiday season, when children have more free time. The camps will be supervised by qualified professionals, including educators and sports monitors, aiming to create a fun and engaging environment for the children. Additionally, this programme seeks to support local families in balancing work and personal life commitments.
