The Cabildo de Tenerife urges drivers to exercise caution when navigating the TF-13 as it traverses the low-nucleus area, following the detachment of a sizeable rock that has impacted a residence.
This incident transpired on Tuesday evening at kilometer 16.8 of the mentioned road, with personnel from the Local Police and the Civil Guard on site to manage traffic, as reported by the Cabildo on Wednesday.
Various teams from the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the Highway Maintenance Service are currently responding to the emergency. As a precaution, nearby residences have been evacuated.
Experts are assessing both the integrity of the affected property and the condition of the hillside to determine if there is a risk of further landslides.
In this regard, the Tenerife Fire Consortium is deploying a drone to conduct an initial evaluation of the slope’s stability.
Early the following morning, road technicians will examine the hillside to ascertain its condition and, if necessary, implement suitable measures.
