A 34-year-old individual has tragically passed away on Tuesday after experiencing a drowning incident at El Charco de la España, located in the municipality of Los Silos, as reported by the 1-1-2 Canary Islands.
The incident took place at 4:44 p.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Islands government received a notification regarding a man floating in the water in that area off the coast of Tenerife.
Upon arrival of the GES Helicopter, a group of swimmers had already retrieved the victim from the sea, who was found in cardiorespiratory arrest and exhibiting signs of drowning.
Medical personnel from the Canarian Emergency Department (SUC), along with primary care staff, commenced cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, but sadly, they were unable to revive him, and his death was confirmed.
Firefighters and police services assisted with the response resources at the scene.
The Civil Guard took charge of implementing the necessary procedures.
