The town of Los Cristianos participated on Monday in a moving ceremony of remembrance and tribute to the seven individuals who tragically lost their lives in the collapse of the ‘Julián José’ building, which occurred on 14 April 2016.
The mayor, Fatima Lemes, led the event, joined by members of the Municipal Corporation, along with the president of the neighbourhood community, Ánima Marrero, and representatives from the Civil Guard, National Police, Local Police, and Civil Protection.
During the ceremony, a minute of silence was observed, and a tribute of flowers and candles was placed beside the vacant lot where the building once stood, marking the ninth anniversary of this heart-wrenching loss, according to a statement from the City Council.
