Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 12 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Civil Guard, as part of Operation Excalibur-TF, have apprehended and interrogated seven individuals, all residents of the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane, who are suspected of committing several offences against public health and being part of a criminal organisation responsible for the production and distribution of narcotics, as well as facilitating their consumption.
This operation commenced at the end of last year when the Civil Guard agents detected indications of possible drug trafficking within the aforementioned municipality, as reported by the security agency.
Consequently, covert surveillance measures were implemented, confirming that a property in the municipality, situated in a commercial area with heavy foot traffic, was being utilised as a “narco flat” for the daily sale of cannabis and cocaine.
Throughout the surveillance activities, several arrests were made of buyers who approached the premises and, after a brief period, exited carrying various doses of crack, cocaine, and hashish. They were subsequently proposed for administrative penalties for infractions under Organic Law 4/2015 concerning the protection of citizen security.
The agents observed that some members of the criminal group were tasked with self-protective duties, conducting watch and perimeter patrols in the adjacent streets to monitor for the presence of the Civil Guard.
Searches
Ultimately, following the relevant judicial entry and search warrants at the premises, access was gained to the interior, effectively dismantling the drug sales point.
During the search, various doses of crack prepared for distribution were seized, along with methamphetamine, amphetamine, and barbiturate drugs, as well as equipment for their production, cutting, weighing, and distribution, and a total of €1,180 in small denomination notes.
Officers from the Santa Cruz de La Palma company, Cinological Group, and the Citizen Security Unit of the Command (Usecic) took part in this operation.
The detainees, along with the case materials, have been presented to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 1 of Llanos de Aridane, where the competent judicial authority has decreed provisional imprisonment for the “alleged leaders” of the criminal organisation.
