Santa Cruz de Tenerife 11 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Health Commission of the Parliament of the Canary Islands has delayed for the third occasion the appearance of the Director of the Canary Health Service (SCS), Carlos Díaz, to discuss the processes of stabilising health personnel, which falls under his remit.
The Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón, who was present at the Commission, did not provide reasons for the delay. Additionally, the socialist representative Miguel Ángel Pérez del Pino has announced plans to introduce an initiative for the “normal procedures” of the Chamber after the withdrawal of the appearance.
Pérez del Pino sought to present his group’s perspective following the third absence of the SCS director, a request that was rejected by the presidency of the commission, following comments from the representative of the nationalist group, Socorro Blessed, who asserted that “no explanation or demonstration” was warranted if the appearance had been withdrawn.
Vox spokesman Nicasio Galván added his voice to the objections of the socialist group, emphasising that it is “unacceptable” for a senior official of the Autonomous Community to evade attending Parliament.
“We believe that for the proper functioning of this Parliament, those called upon should attend. I share the discontent of the members of the Socialist Parliamentary Group and aimed to address it during my turn to speak,” he stated.
