The Canary Islands Foundation, in association with Colima University (Mexico) and its contemporary dance troupe Univerdanza, is set to perform in Tenerife next Monday, 29 April to commemorate International Dance Day.
The event is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Plaza de la Concepción de la Laguna, backed by the Department of Culture of the City of La Laguna. It promises to be an engaging, family-friendly, and heartfelt gathering that is entirely free of charge.
To enable everyone interested in participating in this ‘flashmob’, a video tutorial featuring the official choreography has been prepared by Univerdanza, accompanied by music from Rozalén, whose team has granted permission for its use. The video, which has already garnered over 3,000 views in under 24 hours, can be accessed via the following Instagram link:
The organisers encourage all families, groups of friends, and neighbours to practice the choreography during this Holy Week, turning their free days into an opportunity to dance together for a noble purpose: to celebrate dance as a means of uniting cultures.
The event will open with the reading of the manifesto for International Dance Day, presented by Angeles Baca Herrejón, President of the Mexico Canary Islands and Consul of Mexico in the Canary Islands.
