Santa Cruz de Tenerife 10 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Tenerife Fairgrounds is hosting the ‘Constructed Fair’ until Sunday, an initiative promoted by the Cabildo in conjunction with Fepeco, bringing together a total of 75 businesses and 200 stands spread across an area of 12,000 square metres.
The fair will be open until Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 and on Sunday until 14:00.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, the Vice President of the Canary Islands Government, Manuel Domínguez, the vice president of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, the Minister of Industry and councillor of the Fairgrounds, Manuel Fernández, and the president of FEPECO, Óscar Izquierdo.
Rosa Dávila expressed her delight at the return of this fair, which the Cabildo has revived after the 2008 crisis, stating that it has returned renewed and innovative, adapted to contemporary times, and focused on the future. She emphasised the construction sector as “one of the industries that drives the economy of Tenerife.”
Meanwhile, Manuel Domínguez commented on the international economic climate, emphasising that “for the Canary Islands government, it is crucial to promote direct efforts towards diversifying the economy.”
Additionally, the Vice President of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, highlighted that “the fairgrounds are once again at the forefront of economic development in Tenerife,” assuring that “this fair is yet another example of a comprehensive and diverse programme.”
Afonso mentioned that “Tenerife serves as a driving force for economic activity, thanks to the stimulation of the productive fabric through public policies promoted by the Cabildo, assisting in generating economy and creating employment.”
The Minister of Industry and Vice President of the Fairgrounds, Manuel Fernández, addressed the variety of themes the public can explore at this fair, ranging from prefabricated homes to companies dealing with materials, along with training talks that will cover various topics including the utilisation of artificial intelligence and renewable energies, industrialised construction, and tax incentives for the construction sector.
The president of FEPECO, Óscar Izquierdo, emphasised “the significance of public-private collaboration to initiate projects like this one, which positions Tenerife as the Centre for the Construction Sector in the Canary Islands.”
