A maritime rescue vessel has saved a man in distress at sea off the coast of the Realejos, on the island of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The incident took place near the scenic area of the aforementioned municipality, where a helicopter from the emergency and rescue group (GES) of the Canary Islands government and a sea rescue craft were dispatched after alerts indicated that someone was in trouble at sea.
Ultimately, the rescue boat successfully retrieved the individual, who, upon reaching the shore at the Puerto de la Cruz dock, was attended to by personnel from the Canarian Emergency Department (SUC). They confirmed that he sustained moderate injuries without complications, and he was subsequently taken by ambulance to the Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital.
Emergency services at the scene also included teams from the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the Local Police, who assisted with the other emergency resources.
