The Popular Party of the Canary Islands has initiated a disciplinary procedure against Bianca Cerbán, the councillor who did not endorse the motion of censure documented by CC, Vox, and Marcos Antonio Rodríguez of the PP, which resulted in the dismissal of the socialist Jennifer Miranda from the Mayor’s Office of Granadilla and the appointment of José Domingo Regalado (CC) in her place. The Autonomous Committee for Rights and Guarantees decided to instigate the disciplinary procedure and provisionally suspend her responsibilities, urging her to relinquish any roles or positions of authority. Additionally, the committee has proposed to the National Committee the precautionary and immediate suspension of her membership.
Cerbán stated that she is approaching this matter “with complete transparency and absolute calm,” firmly believing that “she did not act in violation of the principles or the public interest.” This procedure adds to previous attempts to “challenge my work, but it further strengthens my dedication to an approach of close, honest, and committed politics with my community.” She expressed hope that “the truth will ultimately prevail.”
