Exploring Dining Options in the Natural Haven of El Faro de Teno

On Monday, the Cabildo de Tenerife announced that, in collaboration with the City of Buenavista del Norte, it will regulate traffic along the Punta de Teno road to facilitate “improvement works” over the next 10 months. These upgrades also include refurbishing the lighthouse to ensure it has water and light provisions, as well as adapting the facility to potentially accommodate a café or restaurant based on requirements.

This lighthouse is situated within the Rural Park of Teno, which is part of the Network of Protected Spaces in the Canary Islands.

From Thursday, April 10, access to this area will solely be via line 396 of Titsa Guaguas, charging a fare of 1 euro per person per journey, operating between 10:00 and 19:00 until June 30, and from 09:00 to 20:00 starting July 1.

The council has outlined that the enhancements will involve improving access and parking facilities, as well as zones for turning vehicles and for pedestrians.

The total investment exceeds 1 million euros, which will be funded by the European Union through the Next Generation plan.

Blanca Pérez, the Minister of Natural Environment, Sustainability and Security and Emergencies, stated that the road closure aims to ensure that the work is carried out safely.

“We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but it is essential to regulate traffic to carry out the works and restore an iconic space such as the Teno lighthouse,” she remarked.
