Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 5 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Arona pyramid in Playa de las Américas hosted the second edition of Supernova this Saturday, which is the Insular Congress for Commerce and Business Support. This event attracted over 900 registered participants associated with commercial and business activities in Tenerife.
During the opening ceremony, key figures present included Manuel Domínguez, Vice President of the Canary Islands Government; Lope Afonso, Vice President of the Cabildo de Tenerife; Fatima Lemes, Mayor of Arona; Krysten Martín, Minister of Commerce and Business Support; and Arianna Gassmann, President of Aje Tenerife, among others.
Manuel Domínguez emphasised the significance of the initiative arriving at a crucial time for trade, noting that “the Canary Islands have recorded a growth rate of 5.2%, surpassing the national average, and are expected to generate 169,000 jobs in 2024,” according to a statement from the Cabildo Tenerife.
He added, “This sector plays a vital role in the Canarian economy, as events like this encourage the business community to promote essential aspects such as innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Lope Afonso, for his part, underscored that this edition successfully captured the interest of numerous entrepreneurs, allowing various topics to be discussed, from the challenges of launching a new company to the issues arising from the current economic climate.
Mayor Fatima Lemes expressed that Arona is becoming “the focal point for business and commerce support,” highlighting its importance in a municipality centred around tourism.
From the Cabildo, Krysten Martín, Minister of Commerce and Business Support, underscored the goal of making this event a valuable resource for businesses and shops in Tenerife, whilst also recognising the importance of young talent in the sector.
This Congress featured keynote addresses, specialised discussions, and debate panels, along with consulting and professional advice, all aimed at providing a comprehensive array of tools and knowledge to enhance the competitiveness of trade and business in Tenerife.
