Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The reservoirs in Tenerife are currently at 65% of their capacity following the recent rainfall in March, presenting an “optimistic” outlook which assures water supply for the primary sector next summer.
This was stated by the Vice President of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, during a press conference to report on the decisions made by the Governing Council, where he highlighted the recovery of the reservoirs in the northern region, which has been the hardest hit by the drought.
Nonetheless, he indicated that the Water Emergency Declaration, which has been extended until October, will remain in effect, along with the planning of hydraulic projects designed to maintain a stable water flow to address the climate crisis.
