The Vox group in the City of Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife) will oversee five governmental areas, including Civil Protection and Emergency Services, and will assume the second appointment of the mayor’s office following the motion of censure that reinstated José Domingo Regalado (CC), who will govern alongside Vox and PP.
In addition to the aforementioned areas and the second appointment of the mayor’s office, the Vox councillor José Gregorio Sanabria will manage modernisation and new technologies, the primary sector, as well as complaints, suggestions, and citizen participation, which will be a delegated council led by the group’s second deputy mayor, Adaisy Arias, as reported by the municipality in an announcement.
The Popular Party councillor, who until two weeks ago governed with PSOE and was instrumental in the motion of censure, Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, will hold the first appointment of the mayor’s office and oversee public services, works, environment, and beaches.
The overall governmental structure comprises eight mayoral positions and two special delegations.
The mayor, José Domingo Regalado González, emphasised that he is embarking on a “new journey” with a tremendous sense of enthusiasm and with a government that “will collaborate actively alongside the other administrations and citizens to ensure Granadilla becomes a progressive municipality.”
“The internal framework of the local administration will be enhanced to provide improved public services, and we will advance those projects that have been neglected and set aside over the past two years,” remarked the new councillor.
In addition to those previously mentioned, the third appointment of the mayor and the area of security, urban planning, procurement, and animal welfare will be managed by María Candelaria Rodríguez González. The fourth appointment of the mayor’s office and responsibilities regarding Economics and Finance, Economic Development, Social Services, Housing, Health Promotion, and Sports will fall to Rubén García Casañas.
The fifth mayoral appointment, overseeing tourism, senior citizens, equality, and diversity, will be held by Eudita Mendoza Navarro; the sixth appointment, covering education, youth, neighbourhood engagement, transparency, accessibility, and consumer rights, will be assumed by Raquel Morales Izquierdo. The seventh appointment, responsible for culture, festivities, communication, artistic heritage, and institutional relations, will be held by Carlos Abismael Díaz Barreto.
Lastly, the eighth appointment, which includes governance, personnel, employment, local development agency, and mobility, will be assigned to Carmen Delia Mesa Cabrera.
The additional special delegation, apart from that of Vox, pertains to artistic heritage and sports, which will be led by Ramón Fredi Oramas Chávez.
