Santa Cruz de Tenerife 1 Apr. (Press Europa) –

The City Council of Tacoronte has closed the access to the bridge on Teobaldo Power street, which connects a significant educational area of the municipality with the Plaza del Cristo, due to the presence of fissures and in order to ensure safety.

The local authority elaborates on social media that this decision was made following the identification of cracks of varying sizes on the edges of the structure, situated over the Granados ravine.

The complete sealing of the area affected by land instability has been executed urgently, restricting the passage of vehicles and pedestrians until the necessary measures to ensure its reopening are implemented.

The Urban Planning Department will now commence the relevant studies and assessments of the site, which will include a series of inspections to evaluate the extent of the damage to the roadway.

Moving forward, and in conjunction with the Insular Water Council, all necessary actions will be taken to facilitate the stabilization of the bridge and, consequently, the restoration of this vital thoroughfare within the municipality.

As alternative routes, the City Council reminds residents that the connection between Santa Catalina and the Plaza del Cristo can be made on foot via Hoya Machado Park or by road through Calvario Street, V Centenario Avenue, and Tacoronte.

Educational institutions in the area have already been notified to help students adjust to the temporary changes arising from this emergency situation.
