Maritime rescue services successfully intercepted a patera on Tuesday morning, which was carrying 71 immigrants, in waters near El Hierro Island, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of the 112 of the Canary Islands.
The Cayuco, saved by the maritime rescue team, was transported to the La Restinga harbour, where the individuals were provided care by local health services, consisting of personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), the Red Cross, and Primary Care.
Following their treatment, all individuals were reported to be in generally good health.
