The Vox group at the City of Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife) is set to oversee a total of five governmental departments, including Civil Protection and Emergencies, and will assume the Second term as mayor following the Motion of censure that has reinstated José Domingo Regalado (DC) as mayor, who will govern together with Vox and PP.
In addition to the aforementioned roles and the second term in the mayor’s office, the Vox Councillor José Gregorio Sanabria will be responsible for modernisation and new technologies, the primary sector, as well as overseeing complaints, suggestions, and citizen participation. This will be administered by the second councillor from the group, Adaisy Arias, as outlined by the local government in a statement.
Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, the councillor from the Popular Party who previously governed alongside the PSOE and who instigated the motion of censure, will take on the first term in the mayor’s office, managing the areas of public services, works, environment, and beaches.
The overall governmental structure comprises eight mayoral roles and two special delegations.
Mayor José Domingo Regalado González expressed that a new chapter commences “with great enthusiasm,” envisioning a government that “will collaborate closely with other administrations and the public to ensure Granadilla evolves into a municipality that progresses.”
“We aim to enhance the internal infrastructure of local administration to provide a superior public service, and we will reactivate projects that have been neglected over the past two years,” stated the new councillor.
Additionally, the third term as mayor, along with the areas of security, urban planning, procurement, and animal welfare, will be managed by María Candelaria Rodríguez González; while the fourth term and the departments of Economics and Finance, Economic Development, Social Services, Housing, Health Promotion, and Sports will fall to Rubén García Casañas.
The fifth term as mayor and responsibilities for tourism, senior citizens, equality, and diversity will be overseen by Eudita Mendoza Navarro; the sixth term and areas concerning education, youth, community engagement, transparency, accessibility, and consumption will be managed by Raquel Morales Izquierdo; while the seventh term associated with culture, festivities, communication, artistic heritage, and institutional relations will be held by Carlos Abismael Díaz Barreto.
Finally, the eighth term as mayor, inclusive of internal regulation, personnel, employment, local development initiatives, and mobility, will be taken on by Carmen Delia Mesa Cabrera.
The other special delegation, aside from Vox’s responsibilities, will focus on artistic heritage and sports, assigned to Ramón Fredi Oramas Chávez.
