The Cabildo de Tenerife will allocate a budget of 563,888.56 euros for the enhancement of the exterior lighting in the Güímar Valley industrial estate, as announced by the island corporation in a statement.
The Minister of Industry, Manuel Fernández, emphasised that “this initiative is part of the rapid response plan we have developed to renew and revitalise this significant industrial area in Tenerife.”

According to the Cabildo, this project will involve the replacement of at least 25 lighting columns along with their corresponding luminaires. Additionally, it will assess the restoration of some currently operational columns and the replacement of those that are damaged or have fallen within the estate.
Furthermore, the scope of this project will see the current VSAP luminaires replaced with energy-efficient LED lighting to decrease energy consumption. It will also incorporate television systems to optimise energy use and enhance lighting management, replace stolen covers from registration points, and evaluate the electrical frames and circuits to identify and rectify any irregularities.
Manuel Fernández notes that “the initiatives we are implementing in the Güímar Industrial Polygon represent the realisation of our commitment at the start of this term, aimed at resolving over a decade of neglect of this industrial zone, which holds significant economic importance for Tenerife.”
Additionally, Fernández reminded that this rapid response plan has been launched as part of an insular programme for the improvement of industrial estates, “with the objective of collaborating with local municipalities to rejuvenate these areas, thereby enhancing the activities conducted within them, increasing competitiveness among businesses, and attracting investment to the industrial sector, considering that it is an economic domain that creates stable and high-quality employment.”
