Civil Guard Probes Dog’s Beheading Case in Tenerife

The Civil Guard has identified and is looking into a man as the suspected perpetrator of a dog’s death, with the decapitated head discovered outside the residence of the animal’s owners in the Tenerife municipality of Tegueste.

An investigation was initiated by the Civil Guard following a complaint lodged by the dog’s owner. The involvement of the chief officer of Tacoronte alongside the patrol unit from the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) has been “crucial,” as indicated by the armed force in an official statement.

The collaborative efforts in gathering clues and evidence, complemented by the technical analyses conducted by SEPRONA specialists, facilitated the discovery of the dog’s remains and produced substantial evidence that resulted in the identification and inquiry of the alleged perpetrator, who is accused of animal cruelty leading to death.

This heinous act has sparked considerable public concern, as noted by the Civil Guard.

The case files have been submitted to the Court of Instruction of the Guard in La Laguna.
