The Cabildo de Tenerife has requested the establishment of a medical service at the North-City of La Laguna to ensure the health and safety of travellers. This initiative received approval during an institutional agreement at the Plenary meeting held this Friday.
The agreement calls upon the Spanish Government to implement measures that ensure health security at the specified airport, thereby creating a safe and prepared environment for any medical emergencies, as stated by the institution in a press release.
Furthermore, the agreement includes the proposal to “encourage the formulation of an agreement between the Insular Cabildo of Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands, and Aena, if required, to secure the necessary resources for the establishment of the medical service at La Laguna’s North-city airport.”
Additionally, Aena is urged, in partnership with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife if necessary, to initiate an awareness campaign aimed at informing passengers and airport users about the procedures to follow in case of emergencies or health crises, “thus ensuring a rapid and effective response to any health-related incidents.”
