Santa Cruz de Tenerife 27 Mar. (Europa Press) –
The City Council of Tégueste, through its Animal Welfare Department, has conveyed its most “strong and unequivocal condemnation” on Thursday following the brutal act of violence against a puppy known as ‘Boli’, which has been found decapitated.
This incident, which took place on the General Punta Hidalgo highway, has “deeply impacted” the local government and the Teguestra Society, as highlighted in a statement from the Council.
“We categorically denounce this atrocity and reiterate our pledge to safeguard and ensure the well-being of all animals,” they state.
The Council emphasises that “no instance of animal cruelty” will be tolerated and extends its solidarity to the family affected, whilst urging citizens to report any forms of abuse towards animals.
The animal welfare department asserts that they will persist in their “tireless efforts to prevent such unfortunate events from reoccurring and to foster coexistence rooted in respect, empathy, and the protection of the most vulnerable beings.”
In this regard, it is noted that any information that may assist the investigation should be reported to the appropriate authorities, and the City Council has resources available to address complaints and protect animals. “We will not tolerate acts of this nature going unpunished,” they state.
