A 21-year-old hiker of foreign nationality was rescued this Sunday after experiencing a fall at the viewpoint overlooking the Ucaca Valley within Teide National Park, according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
The incident took place at 12:42 when the 1-1-2 control room received a notification regarding the accident, prompting a request for medical assistance. Consequently, CECOES promptly activated the necessary emergency resources.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters from the Tenerife consortium located and rescued the individual. Following this, personnel from the SUC provided medical attention to the hiker, who sustained a moderate trauma to a lower limb.
The injured individual was subsequently transported in a basic life support ambulance from the SUC to the South Hospiten Centre. The Civil Guard handled the subsequent proceedings.
