The Court No. 1 in San Sebastián de la Gomera has ordered provisional detention, communicated and without the option of bail, for the individual apprehended due to his possible involvement in the demise of a 47-year-old man near the harbour of Valle Gran Rey.
The magistrate has opted to pursue an investigation for a homicide offence concerning the detainee, who exercised his right to remain silent during his court appearance this Saturday, as informed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.
Assault involving a sharp weapon
The victim succumbed to injuries this Thursday following an assault with a sharp weapon in the vicinity of the specified port, according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The incident took place at 03:01 hours that same day. Emergency personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) and Primary Care arrived on-site, confirming that the local resident had sustained injuries from a sharp weapon to the chest.
Despite the efforts of health professionals, they were only able to declare his demise.
