The recent declaration by the Cabildo to implement an intelligent system for managing traffic in Anaga Rural Park, utilising sensors and devices to count and classify each vehicle in real-time, with the objective of alleviating the mobility strain in the region, has not been well received by the local residents. They express that “we are left with a declaration that does not urgently address a problem we have endured for years.”
The community is calling for a meeting with the Cabildo to discuss genuine solutions, warning that they will initiate “protests and traffic disruptions to prevent tours or visitors from coming and oppose spending on a control system that is unlikely to be effective.”
