A 93-year-old man tragically passed away on Tuesday after veering off the road with his vehicle and colliding with an unoccupied building in San Miguel de Abona. The alert regarding the incident, which took place on Fermín Pérez Street, was received at 13:18 hours.
According to the Canary Islands Emergency Coordinating Centre, the man was found unconscious when emergency responders arrived and was trapped inside the vehicle, necessitating the intervention of firefighters to extricate him.
Emergency services were promptly activated by 1 1 2. Firefighters secured the vehicle and reinforced the building structure.
Health officials confirmed the man’s death due to injuries that were incompatible with life.
The Local Police conducted the required investigation.
