Santa Cruz de Tenerife 13 Mar. (Europa Press) –

The family of Isaac Trujillo, a 30-year-old resident of Lanzarote who tragically passed away in the early hours of March 4 due to injuries sustained during a brawl at the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is seeking assistance and witnesses to help identify the assailants.

“Tenerife, we require your help in locating witnesses who can assist in identifying those who took our son’s life,” states a message shared on social media.

In this regard, it highlights that Isaac was “savagely attacked by a group of individuals who took his life” and that only two of the culprits have been identified, with “several others” still yet to be recognised.

“We are striving for justice, and we urge anyone who can provide testimony or images that may aid in clarifying the circumstances to come forward. If you witnessed the incident, recorded anything, or have any information, please share it anonymously and with complete confidentiality,” appeals the family, who also provides the email address Justiceporisaactrujillo@gmail.com.

The family emphasises that their only aim is to “uncover the truth” and believes that public collaboration is “crucial” in bringing those accountable for Isaac’s death to justice.

“Do not let carnival become indifferent to violence. Violence impacts us all,” concludes the message.

Currently, two young women have been apprehended in connection to the events that transpired on Maritime Avenue in the capital, including the alleged assailant, a 19-year-old student from Gran Canaria, who is under investigation for homicide due to potential intent and managed to avoid provisional detention by paying a bail of 6,000 euros – Isaac died from cardiorespiratory arrest while being transported to the hospital.

Additionally, there is a second individual under investigation, of Maghreb descent and resident in Gran Canaria, facing allegations of injury and currently in provisional freedom.
