On Monday afternoon, a Cayuco carrying approximately 70 migrants, all males, was rescued in waters close to El Hierro Island, according to maritime rescue sources who spoke to Europa Press.
The vessel was spotted by a Sasemar aircraft about 45 miles southeast of the island, prompting the Guardamar Talía to respond and carry out the rescue operation.
Initially, they are anticipated to arrive at the port of La Restinga around 17:30 for disembarkation.
