The Cabildo de Tenerife has reopened all trails of the Teide-Pico stratovolcano on Monday following the completion of snow and ice clearing operations.
The Insular Corporation advises individuals to exercise caution when traversing the paths and to ensure they have the necessary authorisation via the Tenerife On website and application (www.tenfeon.es).
The Cabildo de Tenerife reminds users that prior reservations are mandatory to access paths No. 7 (from the summit of Blanca Mountain to its junction with No. 11 viewpoint of the fortress), No. 9 (the segment between its junction with No. 32 Abeque and the conclusion at its confluence with No. 12 Viejo Viejo Mirador), No. 23 (the black regattons) and No. 28 (Chafarí) via the Tenerife On website.
Furthermore, it is reiterated that to access path No. 10 Telesforo Bravo, which connects the Rambleta with the Teide Summit, a permit must be obtained through the National Park Reserve Central (www.revasparquesnacional.es).
These trails are of significant difficulty and are unsuitable for individuals lacking high mountain experience or those with heart, respiratory, or mobility issues.
Access to these routes requires long trousers (trousers or backpack) and a polar coat, and it is also essential to wear specialised mountain footwear. Additionally, it is necessary to have water or hydrating liquids, a mobile phone, and either a flashlight or headlamp with batteries, particularly if undertaking the activity in the late afternoon or early morning.
Moreover, during the winter season, wearing gloves and a hat is also compulsory.
