Tenerife distances itself from achieving 100% self-sufficiency through renewable energy sources. In fact, it would require twenty times more clean energy output than what is currently available. This is one of the key findings of a study conducted by the University of La Laguna (Ull), which deems the goal “feasible” but cautions that it is also “crucial to invest in the infrastructure required to store that energy,” which is currently lacking.
