The capacity of the 21 Balsas infrastructure in Tenerife (Balten) increased by 17.4% last month, rising from 2,217,332 to 2,685,913 cubic metres, resulting in a total increase of 468,581. The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, explained that this surge is due to the considerable and beneficial rainfall experienced recently, particularly in the southern regions. As of March 5 (Wednesday), the reservoirs are currently filled to just over half of their total capacity, approximately 5 million cubic metres, specifically at 53.3%. This information was shared by Dávila alongside the Minister of Primary Sector and Animal Welfare, Valentín González, as they reviewed the topics discussed in the Insular Government Council, while Vice President Lope Afonso was away on travel.
