Canary Islands Weather Forecast for This Thursday

The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) forecasts for Thursday a mixture of clouds and rain over the northern mountainous islands, including Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. There is a possibility of locally intense showers accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, with temperatures remaining relatively stable and a northwest wind.

Weak frosts may occur on the summits of Tenerife and La Palma.

Regarding sea conditions, a north or northwest wind of force 2 to 4 and 3 to 5 is expected, leading to a slight swell or movement. Along the coasts of the southwest, southeast, and south of the islands, a variable force of 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 will create a choppy sea.

In the northern and northwestern waters, wave heights of 1 to 2 meters are anticipated, along with showers in the north.

The weather forecast for the islands is as follows:

Lanzarote

Cloudy intervals, with a predominance of overcast skies at the start and throughout the afternoon. Early morning rainfall is possible, with a low chance of locally heavy showers and isolated storms. Morning conditions should be predominantly clear. There will be little variation in temperatures or a slight rise. Moderate winds from the northwest.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Arrecife 14 21

Fuerteventura

Cloudy intervals, with a predominance of overcast skies at the start and into the evening. Early morning showers are expected, with minimal changes in temperatures or a slight increase. Moderate winds from the northwest.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Puerto del Rosario 15 22

Gran Canaria

Cloudy intervals dominate, particularly in the northern regions in the morning and the eastern areas in the afternoon. There is a chance of occasional rain in the north during the morning and the east in the afternoon, which may manifest as heavy showers. Temperatures are forecast to remain stable or see a slight increase.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 15 22

Tenerife

Cloudy intervals with predominant cloud cover to the north in the morning and east in the afternoon. Occasional rains are possible in the north during the early hours, with the potential for heavy showers. In the afternoon, conditions may also lead to light rain in the Medianías of the eastern slopes. Little change in temperatures is expected, or a slight rise in coastal areas. Moderate increases in temperature may occur in the higher elevations where weak frost cannot be ruled out. Moderate winds from the northwest.

Forecasted temperatures (minimum and maximum, °C): Santa Cruz de Tenerife 16 22

La Gomera

Cloudy intervals with likely showers in the north early on, with overcast skies prevailing. In the afternoon, rainfall will be more frequent on the southern slopes. There will be little change in temperatures or a slight rise, particularly in higher areas. Moderate northwest winds.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): San Sebastián de la Gomera 15 22

La Palma

Predominantly overcast skies, with clearer conditions expected towards the end of the day. Occasional rainfall will be more likely in the northern regions during the early hours and in the interior and eastern areas in the afternoon. Little change in temperatures is anticipated or slight increases. Weak frost may occur in higher elevations. Moderate winds from the northwest.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Santa Cruz de la Palma 15 21

El Hierro

Predominantly overcast conditions with a possibility of sporadic rain in the north during the morning. Little change in temperatures is expected or slight increases. Moderate winds from the northwest.

Forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures (°C): Valverde 10 15
