Maritime rescue services have discovered two Cayucos during the early hours of Wednesday, carrying a total of 105 migrants, including three minors, in waters near the island of El Hierro, as reported by the official organisation.
Specifically, the Salvamar Acrux spotted the first Cayuco nearly 13 kilometres (7 nautical miles) south of La Restinga, with 61 sub-Saharan individuals on board, including 13 women.
They were subsequently escorted to the port of La Restinga, where they arrived around 04:30.
Meanwhile, the Salvamar Adhara identified a second Cayuco at a distance of 16 kilometres (8.7 nautical miles) from El Hierro, with 44 individuals, also of sub-Saharan descent, among whom were four women and three children, who disembarked in La Restinga at approximately 05:10.
The two rescue operations were coordinated by the controllers at the Tenerife Rescue Control Centre.
