Virgin has emerged victorious in the second edition of the Dragnaval 2025 contest held during the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Alongside Virgin, Dummy Porcelain and Isabella and Punto were chosen as the first and second finalists, as reported by the City Council of the Capital of Tenerife.
The second edition of Dragnaval featured 12 contestants participating in a competition that unfolded in two phases. The awards were presented by the councilors for festivities and equality and sexual affective diversity, Javier Caraballero and Gladis de León, respectively.
The hosts of the event, Exuberance Carey and Pupi Poisson, conducted a show that lasted just over two hours. The event also included appearances by Dita Dubois, Mariana Stars, and Drag Nilo, who was the winner of the first edition of this contest.
The panel of judges responsible for selecting the six finalists comprised Alex Mercury, an influencer, artist, DJ, businesswoman, and director of the LGTBIQ+ Queens party; an experienced transformist artist boasting three decades in the industry; stylist Leticia Expósito, who has over 20 years of experience and expertise in image consultancy and protocol; Mariana Stars, a participant of Drag Race Spain; and Israel Reyes, a director and producer of shows, member of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain, director of the Drag Gala in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and responsible for the staging of Nebula at Eurovision 2024.
The winner was determined by public vote among the three finalists selected by the jury, utilising a system based on ‘applause’. Virgin, a finalist in the previous edition, received the loudest applause, thus earning the title of winner in this second Dragnaval contest.
