Spain and Greece top the Tui Group’s listing of the 100 finest hotels for 2025, representing 50% of the overall ranking that spans 11 countries and 33 destinations globally. Within the Canary Islands, twelve hotels feature prominently, located across the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife.
According to a statement, the top-rated hotels in the archipelago include Aqua Suites, Hotel Farions, and Lava Beach Hotel in Lanzarote; Bahiazul Resorts Fuerteventura in Fuerteventura; Hotel Nayra-Adults Only, Club Lookéa Maspalomas, Maspalomas Suites & Spa, Idylll Suites, Riu Gran Canaria, and Riu Palace Maspalomas in Gran Canaria; along with Ampartments Ambassador and Hotel Tigaiga in Tenerife.
This announcement arrives just prior to the Tui Global Hotel Awards 2025 ceremony, scheduled for March 3 in Berlin, where the ‘Top 100’ hotels will be honoured.
The selection process, based on evaluations by the German company, features a diverse range of accommodations, from quaint family-run hotels and boutique options to expansive resorts, wellness centres, ski hotels, and urban lodgings.
Numerous establishments have retained their standing in the rankings over the years, while the newcomers are recognised for their exceptional service and quality.
In Spain, the ‘Top 100’ hotels can be found in island destinations within the Balearic Islands (Mallorca and Menorca) and the Canary Islands (Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife), as well as in the mainland across cities such as Seville, Málaga, Alicante, Barcelona, and Jerez de la Frontera.
Specifically, in Mallorca, the prominent hotels are GrupoTetel Molins, Groupotel Parc Natural & Spa, Palma Palace Playa, Hoposa Illo D’Or, Hotel Bonsol Resort & Spa, and Hotel Son Matias Beach, alongside Moll Sentits Hotel & Spa; while Menorca features the Seth 55 Santo Tomàs.
The list is further complemented by 25 hotels from the mainland: H10 Casa de la Plata (Seville), Ikos Andalusia (Málaga), Hotel Don Pancho Mainland (Alicante), Golden Port Salou & Spa (Barcelona), and Hipáffes Barrosa Palace (Jerez de la Frontera).
Other countries
Looking at the other countries represented, Greece boasts 25 hotels, matching Spain’s count, followed by Türkiye with 17, Cyprus with 10, and Egypt with eight. An additional 38 new establishments have been added to the ranking.
“This accomplishment reflects a commitment to excellence and the art of genuine hospitality,” remarked the commercial director of Markets at Tui, Stefan Baumert.
Meanwhile, Tui’s director of accommodation products and services, Phill Iiveson, emphasised that “every detail is crucial to delivering the ideal experience for guests, from the moment they arrive to the exceptional service throughout their stay.”
