Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 25 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The National Police will set up documentation update (PAD) stations across various municipalities within the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This effort aims to assist citizens in managing and renewing their digital certificates for the National Identity Document (DNI).
This initiative falls under the ‘Recovery, Transformation and Resilience-Next Generation EU’ programme, which is financed by the European Union to enhance the efficacy and performance of public administration.
The new devices will be installed in Los Silos, ICOD de los Vinos, Candelaria, Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife), and Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma).
These machines will be situated in prominent and accessible locations, enabling citizens to efficiently, easily, and securely update their DNI digital certificates or change their access passwords free of charge.
Their operation is anticipated to commence in roughly two months, as noted by the National Police.
The PAD is a device equipped with a touchscreen and keyboard, designed for user-friendly operation.
The process is straightforward, guiding users through the instructions displayed on the screen.
To ensure safety and confidentiality, the procedure will only be conducted with the physical presence of the ID holder, who must confirm their identity by scanning their card and undergoing biometric fingerprint validation.
