Santa Cruz de Tenerife 24 Feb. (Europa Press) –
A 76-year-old individual has suffered from moderate intoxication following a fire in his residence located in La Laguna, on the island of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of the 112 service in the Canary Islands.
The incident took place at 03:46 on Monday, at a property on Virgen de la Luz street, within the San Matías neighbourhood of the mentioned municipality. Personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, the man exhibited moderate poisoning, fortunately without complications, due to smoke inhalation. He was subsequently taken by ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.
Additionally, units from the Tenerife Fire Consortium, equipped with a heavy urban pump (BUP), also arrived at the scene and worked to extinguish the fire, which had affected an armchair, and ventilated the premises.
Furthermore, both local and national police officers were called to the area to secure the location and assist the remaining emergency services.
