The Department of Citizen Security of the La Laguna City Council has arranged for an enhancement of Local Police security measures during the Carnival Nights, which will officially commence on 28 February and continue until 9 March.
The councillor in charge of this area, Badel Albel, has emphasised its importance.
“These preventative control measures will be positioned in key locations of vehicle movement and will be supported by an increase in police presence in areas with high foot traffic, such as the lagoon interchange and various tram stops,” the councillor stated in a communication released by the La Laguna City Council this Saturday.
The municipality highlights that in the coming days, internal coordination meetings will take place between the various stakeholders involved and those responsible for the Local Police, along with other security forces that will also be present during the Carnival festivities.
These measures will be implemented over the first weekend of the celebration (Friday, 28 February and Saturday, 1 March), Carnival Monday (3 March), and the Piñata weekend (8 and 9 March).
The City Council urges the community to enjoy these festive evenings in a responsible manner to avoid any disruptions.
