A 61-year-old paragliding enthusiast of foreign nationality sustained injuries this Saturday following an accidental fall in a hard-to-reach area close to the dam of Mala, situated in the municipality of Haría (Lanzarote), as reported by the Emergency Coordinating Centre and Security (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident took place around 11:26, when the 1-1-2 control room received an alert regarding the occurrence. In response, the CECOES promptly mobilised the necessary emergency resources to the scene.
Rescue personnel from the GES Helicopter discovered the individual and undertook the rescue operation, subsequently transporting them to the fire service’s helisuperficie where an ambulance from the SUC was awaiting.
Medical staff attended to the injured party, who had sustained moderate trauma to the hip, before transferring them to Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa.
Firefighters and Local Police assisted with the deployed resources.
