Santa Cruz de Tenerife 19 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, presided over the inauguration of three new sub-inspectors for the Local Police on Wednesday. These three individuals have previously served as officers within the police force; however, after successfully completing a selection process conducted in 2021, their promotions have now been officially recognised.
During the event, the three newly appointed sub-inspectors, Francisco Javier Rodríguez Núñez, Jordi Martín Tirado, and Daniel Castro Baute, received congratulations from the mayor, who also acknowledged the significant responsibilities they will undertake in their new roles.
“The safety of our residents is a priority for this council, and your role within our local police is vital, as your decisions can profoundly impact the lives of many,” remarked the mayor in his address.
Bermúdez took this opportunity to express his confidence that the new sub-inspectors “will carry out their duties with fairness, compassion, and efficacy”, urging them to “maintain their commitment to service, lead by example, and continue working towards a secure, orderly Santa Cruz where we can all coexist in harmony.”
The trio of new sub-inspectors, who excelled in the theoretical and practical examinations as part of the aforementioned process, were appointed as practical officials as of November 2023, completing the mandated 1,200 hours of active service.
They have also participated in a specialised selection course provided by the General Directorate of Studies, Training, and Public Security Research of the Canary Islands Government, as outlined in the announcement.
