Santa Cruz de Tenerife 19 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has sanctioned the transfer of a drone to the Civil Guard’s environmental protection unit (Seprona) during the Governing Council session held this Friday. This drone will be utilised in the safeguarding and monitoring of protected natural areas as well as any other locations that necessitate oversight.
The device, valued at 3,000 euros, features a high-resolution camera, a 360-degree obstacle detection system, and high-definition video transmission (HD) capable of extending up to 15 km, thereby enabling real-time monitoring, as detailed by the island’s president, Rosa Dávila, in a press briefing regarding the Governing Council’s resolutions.
With a flight autonomy of 43 minutes, the drone “will enhance” the monitoring of protected zones, bolstering efforts in environmental oversight, the identification of unlawful activities, and the management of areas that are hard to access.
