The Local Police in La Laguna has reported a motorist who was driving without a licence and tested positive for cocaine and amphetamines. His companion also raised suspicion, particularly when he persistently honked the horn during a minor traffic hold-up caused by a control point in the Rocío neighbourhood.
Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered marijuana buds, 78 packets of tobacco, €367.62 in coins, four drills, and dark clothing, including black gloves.
Consequently, they were transferred to the National Police units for full identification and to initiate legal proceedings. The City Council of La Laguna stated that they are being investigated for “possible criminal activities.”
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Monday on Rector Street José Escobedo, when the driver of a vehicle began to sound the horn insistently during a minor traffic hold-up, unaware that it was caused by police controls.
After the officers signalled for him to stop, the vehicle attempted to flee but was ultimately apprehended.
Neither of the two occupants possessed any identification. Additionally, the driver did not hold a driving licence, prompting the officers to initiate the appropriate judicial procedures. Upon conducting breathalyser and drug tests, he was found positive for cocaine and methamphetamine.
