Madrid/Santa Cruz de Tenerife 16 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The Canary Islands will experience overcast periods, aside from the easternmost islands in the afternoon, where skies will be predominantly cloudy. Additionally, forecasts indicate rain in La Palma during the night, primarily impacting the northern region, with the possibility of occasional heavy downpours during the late hours, as stated by the State Meteorology Agency (Aemet).
Moreover, Aemet has issued alerts this Monday for ‘Bonita Island’ Tenerife.
Conversely, temperatures are expected to remain relatively stable, with only a mild increase in maximum temperatures in Mediaías del Norte and the east.
Winds will be gentle in the eastern province, predominantly from a regime of sea breezes, intensifying and shifting to a western direction in the afternoon. In the western areas, winds will be light and variable, strengthening and shifting southwest from midday, occasionally becoming strong in the southeast and northwest regions during the afternoon.
Forecast for the whole of Spain
The majority of the mainland will undergo a reduction in maximum temperatures on Monday, except within Galicia and Asturias, where a rise is anticipated, and there will be no significant changes or slight increases in the archipelagos, according to predictions from the state meteorological agency (Aemet).
At the beginning of the week, a stable weather pattern is expected across the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, featuring mostly clear skies or intervals of high clouds with a near absence of rainfall. The front that traversed the region on Sunday will continue to create a cloudy atmosphere initially in the northern Balearic Islands and Catalonia, with the potential for some light precipitation, gradually shifting to clearer conditions.
Expect abundant low cloud cover during the morning, with likely mist and fog, particularly in Galicia, the Cantabrian area, the southern depressions of the Atlantic region, and especially in the Northern Plateau, where mists may become locally dense and persistent.
On this Monday, winds will blow in Ampurdán from the south with a westward shift to moderate levante in the Strait and Alborán, alongside light winds from the east and south in the remaining areas; moderate winds are expected along the Galician and Cantabrian coastlines.
