Helplessness of a Tenerife Resident: “My Home is Being Invaded!”

“I feel utterly powerless and constrained: a group of individuals has taken over a property of mine, and nothing can be done!” The proprietor of the Terrera House in the El Toscal district, which was invaded last Tuesday in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife by a group of youths, expresses feeling “completely devastated” and “helpless” as she realises that neither the law enforcement agencies nor the judiciary have been able to intervene to prevent the unlawful occupation of a home she inherited, which holds immense sentimental significance for her family and was intended for renovation for her children.
