Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 13 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, via the General Directorate of Personnel and Teacher Training, declared on Thursday the permanent establishment of an additional ten new lists of temporary teaching staff.
Specifically, these encompass the disciplines of mathematics, Italian, technology, construction project management, commercial processes, civil construction and building, processes and media, woodworking and furniture processes and products, organisational and commercial management, along with manufacturing and installation in carpentry and furniture.
Consequently, following the imminent publication of the relevant resolution in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), interested parties will have the opportunity to register indefinitely via the electronic portal of the Ministry, as highlighted by the regional department in a press statement.
The Ministry reminds that this initiative was introduced in the Canary Islands last year with the establishment of lists in the most in-demand specialties, aiming to improve the process of covering vacancies in the non-university education sector.
They have noted that during recent calls for the establishment or expansion of lists, “the challenges” in effectively covering vacancies in certain specialities had become evident, leading to a recognition of the need to implement mechanisms that align the appointment procedure with the “real demands” of the education system.
Forty Lists
The total number of permanently open lists now reaches forty, according to the regional department, as these ten new specialties have been added to the thirty previously established by the Ministry of Education.
From the teaching body, there are currently lists open for English, German, French, therapeutic pedagogy, and hearing and language.
As for the secondary school teaching body, the open lists thus far include specialties such as philosophy, Latin and Greek, electrotechnical installations, computer systems and applications, as well as health and care procedures.
Further, there are also lists for clinical and orthoprosthetic diagnosis procedures, organisation and maintenance processes of vehicles, electronic systems, computer science, and organisation and mechanical manufacturing projects.
Additionally, the list includes music, administrative management processes, electronic equipment, installation and maintenance of thermal and fluid systems, machining, and machine maintenance.
Furthermore, specialties like French (EOI), physics and chemistry, Italian, economics, vocational training and guidance, agricultural production operations and equipment, business administration, electrotechnical and automatic systems, health processes, and computer media are also represented.
