The finale of the adult murgas competition is the occasion when you encounter enthusiasts of the groups performing, carnival aficionados of all kinds, whether they’re familiar solely with the parade of mad devils or bambones, or simply those who enjoy the festivities. What is certain is that in the fairgrounds, soon, there will be no space left, for what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by relishing one of the prominent carnival events?

Following nearly two days of frenzied activity across social media after the jury’s verdict last Wednesday, this Murgas gala has garnered attention akin to the Oscars, featuring the Sonora, Zeta Zetas, Ironicos, Chaladas, Guanchinquiestas, Trapaseros, Bambones, and Mamelucos, in that precise order. At 8:30 p.m., taking the stage to kick off what promises to be a lengthy day, the Nifu Nifafa affirmation, Murga Mother of the Carnival, will present an emotional tribute dedicated to Nicolás Mingorance, the creator of the “Cubanito”. The event will be introduced by Alexis Hernández, the master of ceremonies, alongside Laura Afonso, who have become the distinctive voices of a night like this.
