Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 13 Feb. (Europa Press) –
CD Tenerife has released a statement on Thursday expressing its respect for the judicial investigation involving its second-largest shareholder, Rayco García, regarding a charge of coercion relating to gender-based violence, and has assured “maximum responsibility and transparency” throughout the process.
The club also emphasised its rejection of “all forms of violence” and views any actions that undermine the dignity and rights of individuals, particularly gender violence, as unacceptable, which it “condemns outright.”
Furthermore, it reiterated its “complete respect” for the presumption of innocence, a fundamental right for anyone accused of a crime, and committed to its shareholders and supporters to act “in accordance with the ethical principles and values” that have historically guided the organisation.
On Thursday, García appeared before the Court of Violence number 1 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for an alleged charge of coercion regarding gender violence, having been arrested on Wednesday by the National Police following a complaint from his former partner.
