Santa Cruz de Tenerife 13 Feb. (Europa Press) –
The second largest shareholder of CD Tenerife, Rayco García, has been released this Thursday after giving evidence before the Court of Violence number 1 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife regarding an alleged offence of coercion linked to gender violence.
García left the Palace of Justice shortly after 3:00 p.m., accompanied by his solicitor. He declined to comment to the press and took a taxi home.
The incidents under investigation, as detailed in a police report published by ‘El Confidencial’, occurred between April and May of the previous year when he was in a romantic relationship with a young woman from the island, who is the granddaughter of another one of the Club’s shareholders.
According to the complaint filed on Tuesday evening, the young woman became pregnant and faced pressure from García to undergo an abortion, which she refused. This refusal led to several threats, including the suggestion of harm to the child in Saudi Arabia, where García has connections through his work in the football industry.
He also threatened the young woman’s mother, and following an initial unsuccessful attempt in Madrid, the abortion was carried out in a clinic in Tenerife against her will, driven by fear of his threats.
