The City Council of La Laguna, via the Commerce Department, has initiated the campaign ‘Love is built’ to commemorate Valentine’s Day. This initiative aims to promote local businesses and dining establishments while fostering a more thoughtful and realistic interpretation of love.
Estefanía Díaz, the Commerce Councillor, emphasised the significance of the campaign in encouraging community involvement and revitalising local commerce. “Our aim is to convey a message that transcends conventional romantic ideals, underscoring that love, in all its manifestations, necessitates nurturing and effort. Additionally, this campaign will offer an opportunity to support our shops and create a distinctive experience for our citizens.”
The campaign encompasses a variety of promotional activities designed to engage the community and enhance local trade. This includes, among other initiatives, the distribution of 3,000 boxes of chocolates, 5,000 cards bearing heartfelt messages, as well as diverse street activities aimed at encouraging residents to partake in the celebration.
“We wish for citizens to actively join in this celebration and feel part of a message that promotes the positive values of love and coexistence,” concluded Estefanía Díaz.
One of the standout attractions will be the LEGO Roses competition, an inventive street event taking place in various locations throughout the municipality. In this challenge, pairs of friends, family members, or couples will race to construct a Lego flower within the shortest possible time. The winner will be awarded the rose as a trophy, while both participants will receive a heart-shaped keyring as a keepsake.
Through this initiative, the La Laguna Commerce sector reaffirms its dedication to boosting commercial activity and strengthening community bonds, celebrating a Valentine’s Day where love, in all its forms, is cultivated day by day.
