Czech Fugitive Arrested in Southern Tenerife for Fraud Allegations

The National Police has apprehended a fugitive sought by the authorities in the Czech Republic for multiple offences related to high-tech cybercrime, forgery of payment methods, and fraud, potentially facing a prison term of up to 20 years.

The request for his location and detention reached Spain in January, and since then, he had taken measures to elude identification.

A few days later, investigators received tips regarding the suspected whereabouts of the fugitive in several apartments situated in the southern region of Tenerife, according to sources from the provincial police headquarters.

National Police specialists proceeded to the site, where they observed a couple matching the fugitive’s description. Following verification of his identity, they proceeded with the arrest.

The apprehended individual has been placed at the disposal of the relevant judicial authority to commence the extradition process requested by the Czech Republic.

The National Police underscores the significance of public cooperation in such cases and reminds the public that the list of most wanted individuals can be accessed on the police website.
