National Police officers have intercepted a narco sailboat carrying over half a ton of cocaine, located approximately 800 miles west of Tenerife.
This global endeavour to combat maritime drug trafficking involved collaboration from authorities in France (DNRED), the United Kingdom (NCA), and the USA (DEA).
The vessel, en route to the Canary Islands with 600 kilos of cocaine divided into 19 bales, was approached by agents from the Special Operations Group (GEO), as per details from the National Police.
Through police investigations, authorities identified a recreational ship sailing under a Polish flag, bound for the Canary Islands with a significant cocaine load.

Consequently, information received from the French authorities in the Caribbean, combined with intelligence from the UK and the DEA, enabled the location of the sailboat on an island across the Atlantic.
Spanish police were promptly alerted to initiate a coordinated international cooperation framework through the intelligence centre against terrorism and organised crime (CITCO), culminating in the interception of the sailboat.
Investigators, alongside GEO agents, conducted the boarding of the sailboat and apprehended the two individuals on board.
Additionally, within the boat, agents confiscated a total of 19 bales weighing approximately 600 kilos of cocaine, various documents, and numerous electronic devices.
